Commercial mission to Chile and Brazil - 2001
A total of 4 businesses, CIATESA, CLIVET SPAIN, FISAIR AND SAUNIER DUVAL CLIMATE, they have participated in the first direct trade Mission, that, organized by AFEC, and directed to CHILE and BRAZIL, was carried out among the days 30 from September to October 12, 2001.
The preparation of the visits and the organization of the agendas of contact were carried out by the Chamber of Commerce of Chile in Spain and the Commercial Office of Spain in Sao Paulo. The missions included the financial aid of the ICEX.
Along the three first days, the businesses developed the contacts with the Chilean businesses, previously contacted, to an average of 3 daily visits. Still trying a first impression, that should be settled and above all developed in its potentiality, the sensation mainly expressed by the components of the Mission, is that of satisfaction.
Thursday day 4, in the framework of the project ALURE, Elaboration of Energy Regulation, Sector Building of the Republic of Chile, AFEC and the Spanish manufacturers participated in the Day directed to: Architects, Engineers Consultants, Businessmen and Developers of the sector of the building of this country.
This project, financed by the European Commission, is headed by SODEAN, Company for the Development of Andalusia, and they participate in the same one, REHVA, European Confederacy of Associations of air conditioning and the Institute of the Construction of Chile.
In the course of the meeting, the Spanish businesses had the opportunity to be presented, and, of brief form, to describe the activities of the same and the main characteristics and environments of application of their products. AFEC presented the activities that carries out and the services that lend its associates, without forgetting a special mention to the Plan of Quality, that develops jointly with ATECYR, of special interest for the Chilean speakers, interested in developing norms directed to the energy savings in the sector of the Chilean building.
The mission was complemented with the visit to the Fair Builds, dedicated basically to the public work and therefore little interesting since the point of the air Conditioning.
In Sao Paulo, the trade Mission began with a visit to the headquarters of the Commercial Office of Spain in that city, where the calendar of visits arranged was summarized, and was delivered to the participants in the same one, a detailed report on Brazil including studies of evaluation of the market of the air Conditioning, analysis of the Brazilian importings of this sector, with special mention to the countries of origin of the Products imported.
The initial impression of the Spanish businessmen reflects it expected difficulty of the introduction of teams manufactured in Spain, by the high customs rates and the state taxes, consequence of the traditional Brazilian measures of protection to the national manufacturers, represented by the most important multinationals of the sector, that are benefited of the protectionist laws of said country.
The greater possibilities for the Spanish manufacturers that intend to export to the Brazilian market, they are centered currently in the special teams, either for their technology or field of application or by the non-existence of local production, as for example: units for rooms of computers and telephone installations, elements special terminals, diffusers of induction or of displacement, etc.
In spite of the previous thing the potential of the Brazilian market and its privileged position with respect to other countries of the zone, justifies the interest of our businesses in Brazil, if intends to have a presence, at least token, in South America.
In the meetings maintained by AFEC, with the corresponding national associations, Chilean Camera of Cooling and air Conditioning of Chile, and ABRAVA, brazilian Association of Cooling, air conditioning, Ventilation and Heating, the mutual interest was verified in exchanging information on Regulations, Regulations, etc., and the importance of maintaining brought up to date the flow of information on activities and events, organized by the different associations to promote the possible participation, not alone of the associations, But also of the respective national associates.
