The 52 edition of the General Assembly of Eurovent, the European association of team-makers of air conditioning, cooling and ventilation, has taken place in Bruges (Belgium) May 28, with the participation of the representatives of the associations national members of full right of the same one.

Meeting of the General Assembly

As a result of the application of the Plan of Business, "Business Plan", approved the year 2008, this has been the first assembly in which the structure designed in the same one, that contemplated the incorporation of an Executive Director, has been operating.

To the start of the meeting the President, Lambert Bouwmeester, thanked to the Belgian association, Agoria, the organization of the event and to the congresspersons its participation. It advanced that, by professional reasons, should abandon the presidency of Eurovent and confirmed that Carlo Grossi accepted to anticipate its replacement on the dates predicted. Consequently the board of directors, "Board" remains composed as continues:

The session developed with normality including the mandatory reports of the Secretary Felix Go Eyken and of the Executive Director Joop Hoogkamer. Subsequently the accounts of the exercise they were approved, the quotas of the national associations and the budget of the year 2011, that attends, in this last case, to the activities described in the Plan of Action approved before.

Finally they were discussed and approved the proposals of modification of the statutes and of the regulation with the idea to facilitate the governability of the association. Among them the disappearance of the executive board, that will be substituted with the assembly of some additional general assembly or the creation of an only Commission, that coordinate the works of the Groups of Product, and devise the documents that express the position of Eurovent toward the outside and set against the institutions.

The vice president responsible for the disappeared persons commissions will be incorporated to the works of this unique and new Commission.

The assembly finalized with the intervention of the commissioner Guido of Wilt, of the General Direction of the Energy, of the European Commission, whose titled presentation "Ecodesign legislation and EU policies", the politics of the European Union and the legislation on echo-design, turned out to be very interesting.

Began its intervention with a panorama of the different initiatives related to the energy policies of the Union.

As instruments of that politics, mentioned among others, the Guidelines on: Ecodiseño, Labeling, Energy Efficiency of the Buildings and Energy Services and Efficiency in the final Use of the Energy, without forgetting the Program "Energy Star" or the Regulation on Ecological Labeling.

Subsequently it reported that is found in process of preparation a Plan of Action on the Energy that will be integrated with another, likewise in preparation, called Plan of Action on Energy Efficiency. It confirmed also it put at the disposal of the necessary structural funds to carry out these and other special initiatives including projects.

Subsequently it centered its intervention in the analysis of the Board of directors on Ecodiseño, the procedures, methodology and steps for the establishment of the applicable requirements to the different products included in the corresponding LOTs, presenting an analysis of the impact predicted of the application of this Board of directors in terms of energy savings.

Taking as an example the efficiency of the products emphasized the importance of an approximation to the energy problem since the side of the demand, Labeling and since the side of the offering, Ecodiseño, Processing in the end of the useful life, etc.

It finished its intervention with a traveled through by the different phases and dates predicted for the development of several Guidelines, with special dedication to the so many times mentioned on Ecodiseño.

In representation of AFEC, air Conditioning Team-Makers Association, Javier Fernández of Bordons, President, and José Mª Ortiz, General Director, they participated respectively of active form in the meetings of the board of directors and General Assembly.

Other activities

As already it is tradition, the celebration of the General Assembly, generates an adequate framework to review the activities that have gone developing during the interval, a year, between an edition and the previous one. In this occasion took place, the previous day, the meeting of the Commission, preceded, on the 26, by the celebration of an encounter of work on statistics from market to European level.

The Commission

On the 27 it took place the meeting of the Commission in which, with the assistance of the national delegates that participate regularly in its meetings, in the case of AFEC, José Mª Ortiz, the Executive Director of Eurovent, Joop Hoogkamer, reviewed the works carried out by the Commission since its recent constitution, the past month of March, doing a traveled through by the different LOTs of the Board of directors on Echo-Design, with a It kept up of the situation of the development of each one of them. In concrete the corresponding to:

DG-TRAIN Lot 10: Household air conditioning and comfort fans
DG-ENTR Lot 1: Refrigeration and freezing equipment
DG TRAIN Lot 1: Boilers
DG-TRAIN Lot 11: Fans for ventilation or odd residential buildings
DG-TRAIN Lot 12: Display Cabinets

Previously to the previous thing, had intervened the Mr. Riviere, of the School of Mines of Paris, agency that heads the consortium created to develop the requirements of design of the LOT 6, air conditioning and Teams of Ventilation, that has initiated recently its career.

In its presentation, that gave rise to numerous consultations on the part of the members of the Commission, did special reference to:

The reach of the LOT 6 and the interaction with the teams object of other LOTs.
The calendar predicted for the development of the different actions, and milestones of the same one.
The objectives of efficiency.
The estimation of the savings of energy expected.

To the meetings of the Commission they attend with regularity, on the part of AFEC, Cecilia Salamanca and José Mª Ortiz.

Market Intelligence

Another meeting that took place in Bruges, in this case May 26, was it dedicated to the analysis of the possibility to create some representative and reliable statistics, to European level, of the market of the teams of air conditioning and cooling.

It is this sense the first steps have been given on the part of Eurovent Certification Company, by means of the initiative called Market Intelligence, whose first steps, results and objectives were explained in the meeting.

In the course of the same one the different documents were analyzed that utilize the different national associations that carry out market research, with a view to a possible contribution.

The present associations in the meeting, AFEC among them, they explained the difficulties that that contribution presents, given that in many cases the information that is generated in the national studies is not of its property, but of the participating businesses, to what the confidentiality of it is added collected of data and the different formats and procedures utilized by each country.

Nevertheless, a determined will of contribution could be verified, being agreed to continue maintaining meetings directed to the search of some type in agreement.
